Sport — Martín arrives in Aragón with a twenty-nine point lead — On the eve of the Spanish race the riders’ standings showed Jorge Martín in the lead, with a twenty-nine point advantage over Marco Bezzecchi and thirty-three over Marc Márquez. Cinema & Entertainment — Venice 83 opens with Danny Boyle’s film on Murdoch — The 83rd International Film Festival is being held at the Lido from September 2 to 12, with a pre-opening on September 1 and artistic direction by Alberto Barbera. The opening film is “Ink” by Danny Boyle, a reconstruction of Rupert Murdoch’s early years and the acquisition of the popular newspaper The Sun. The closing film is “Dio ride” by Giovanni Veronesi. Cinema & Entertainment — Twenty films in competition, five Italian, sixty-two countries — This edition’s main competition counts twenty titles, five of them Italian, while the overall program brings together works from sixty-two countries. The competition jury is chaired by American director and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, while the Orizzonti section jury is chaired by France’s Valérie Donzelli. Also debuting is Venezia Spotlight, eight works taking the place of the former Orizzonti Extra. Screening reservations have been open since August 27. (IndieWire)

Cinema & Entertainment — Out of competition, the documentary on Oasis’s reunion — Among the titles presented at the Lido without competing for awards is “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger,” dedicated to the reconciliation between Liam and Noel Gallagher and the resumption of the British band’s activity. Also expected out of competition is “Scherzetto” by Mario Martone, starring Toni Servillo. Screenings are spread across the eleven days of programming, from September 2 to 12. (Venezia da Vivere)
