The afternoon edition reopens Economy, and two sections remain without an update

The news that reorders the day arrived after the morning edition. The preliminary estimate from Eurostat published today shows euro area consumer prices rising 3.3% year-on-year in August, against 2.9% in July, with energy estimated at +14.3% after +10.3% the previous month. This is the data that opens this edition and fills the space in Economy and Markets, which had been left without an article at 6:30: four additional points in a month for a single component of the basket explain almost all of the rise in the general index, and this changes the picture with which the morning edition had gone to press.

The afternoon’s new sections number five, in addition to Economy and Markets. Two pieces in progress did not make it to the page.
