Afternoon edition adds six sections, morning stays on the page

The morning edition had come out with four sections: Cinema & Entertainment, Foreign Affairs and Geopolitics, Europe, Sport. They remain in place, published and readable, and those looking for them will find them on the front page and in the section pages. This edition does not touch them: not because they are less important, but because repeating them in other words would be a duplicate, and a duplicate is a harm.

What is new at 16:30 is the rest. The opening goes to New Delhi, where India chairs the eighteenth BRICS summit with Putin, Xi and Pezeshkian at the table. A clarification that matters more than the summit itself: the final documents are not available at the time of publication, and we do not anticipate the content of a joint declaration we have not read. On trade, investment and conflicts we know discussions are underway; what comes of them we will write once there is a text.

The six sections entering this afternoon are Italy, Economy, Culture, Health, Tech & AI and World News. In Italy, the tax dossier of the 2027 budget: the hypothesis of extending the 33% bracket to 60,000 euros, estimated cost 2.7 billion, with the alternative of lowering the 23% rate to 22% at 1.5 billion. These are working hypotheses, not decisions, and the piece says so. In Economy, the American price index for August, up 0.4% monthly against 0.1% in July, with the core index at 0.3%, above consensus: the week leading up to the Fed meeting. In World News, the night fire on the Positano cliffside and the landslide that closed the Amalfitana state road at kilometer 16,300 in both directions. In Culture, the slab from Villa Adriana with the inscription FVLGVR SVBMANIVM, forty centimeters by thirty-five, found at the point where it had been placed.

Health and Tech & AI share the same problem today. In the United States the FDA approved the Covid 2026-2027 vaccines on August 28; the CDC’s usage recommendations, which are a separate act by a separate institution, have not been issued. On Nvidia, the fact is Ising’s announcement; the primacy and usefulness are the company’s position, not a verified figure. In both cases we have written where the fact ends.
